But Real Life, in all its many facets, has been getting in my way. Back in May, I announced that I had chosen to switch over to a 4 day x 10 hour/day schedule to give me an extra day off during the week, thus making things like doctor's visits and other important things easier to manage. However, it's starting to come clear to me that working such a schedule isn't doing my health any real favours. For the last month, I've been suffering on an off with a viral cold infection that's forced me to take days off work so I can visit the hospital or the walk-in clinic to get some medication . . . and for those of you not from Canada who don't know, yes, the long wait times when it comes to seeing a doctor are very real here. Hopefully, when the next shift preferencing comes up (and while not confirmed, rumour has it might happen next month), I'll get myself back to the normal 5 day x 8 hour/day schedule. I hope . . . However, there has been some good news. I got almost all of my Christmas shopping done on Thursday last; all I have to get is a present for Mike Smith. I've got something very nice in mind, but I have to wait until next payday (Thursday coming up) to order it on-line. It's VERY nice to have a Canadian dollar that's actually WORTH something these days, ne? Current Location: Welland Current Mood: tired Current Music: "Farewell to Annabelle" - Gordon Lightfoot
